In 1987, UNESCO declared Kilimanjaro a World Heritage Site due to its uniqueness.
The Kilimanjaro Mountain is located in the Northern Tanzania right to the border to the Kenyan republic in Eastern Africa.
Rising abruptly from the open plains, capped by snow and frequently fringed by clouds, it is one of the Africa classic images. Kilimanjaro is a dormant but not extinct volcano.
Apart from a mountain, the park offers other attractions and there are some rare and endemic species of flora and fauna. 2,500 species of plants and 140 mammal species have been recorded.
Major tourism activity in the Park is mountain climbing in which tourists climb the mountain by using routes available.
Any reasonably fit person can conquer Kilimanjaro. Total climb normally take five to six days and involves four or five overnight stays in comfortable mountain huts.
There are several routes including Marangu, the easiest to climb and therefore the more popular, Machame, Shira, Umbwe and Rongai are other routes.
Tarangire, with many African Elephants per square kilometers than any other national park in the country, lies about 120Km southwest of Arusha City.
The Park got its name from Tarangire River that flows through the centre of the Park and form the dry season refuge for wildlife especially elephants!
It is in this Park that visitors will be able to see threatened as well as endangered species ofsuch as ebony trees, Python, cheetah, elephants, African wild dogs, lesser and greater Kudu, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk and others
Birdlife in Tarangire is just Amazing ! About 550 species of birds have been recorded in the park, which is larger number of bird species than the famous Serengeti.
Nicknamed, Serengeti of Flowers, Kitulo National Park is the first National Park in the tropical Africa to be established primarily for its floristic importance.

A half-day hike from the park across the Livingstone Mountains leads to the scenic Matema beach on Lake Nyasa.
The Highland Mangabey, famously known as Kipunji is the first new monkey species discovered in Africa in 20 years.
Now the Largest National Park in Africa, Nyerere National Park is a newly established Park which is part of what is known as Selous Game Reserve.
The name of the Park is given in honor of the founder of the Nation, the Late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere.
The Park has been established in year 2019 and cover an area of over 30,000 square kilometers.
With its largest wilderness area in Africa, Nyerere National park has relatively undisturbed ecological and biological processes, including diverse range of wildlife with significant predator and prey relationship.
The might Rufiji with its renown population of hippo and Rhino flows to Indian ocean. The river has been designated as a photographic zone and is a popular tourist destination.

Mahale contains at least world’s largest protected population (approx. 700-1000) of the eastern subspecies of Chimpanzee.
The area contains at least 337 birds species , many of which are rare and endemic to the Albertine Rift. Eg Pel’s fishing owl.
One of the unusual things about mahale is the wide variety of habitat types that it contains. The park is a mosaic of overlapping rainforest, woodland, bamboo forest, Montane forest and mountain grasslands, meaning that mahale can support a unique mix of flora and fauna that rely on the various different habitats.
Mahale contains 8 (Possibly 9) primates in addition to chimps; these are yellow baboons, blue monkeys, red colobus, pied colobus, and vervet monkeys two or three species of Galago.
Lake Tanganyika, which is part of Mahale, is both the world second longest and second deepest freshwater lake being 673 in length and 60-80km in width.
The fresh water fish fauna of lake Tanganyika is one of the most diverse in the world. The Lake is home to at least 400 species of fish, about 250 of which are cichlids, and 98% of which are endemic (the occur nowhere else on earth)
Serengeti National Park
